Zambia

For the price of a coffee, you can change many lives !

Our children went back to school this month. But not everyone can afford it. In Zambia, schools are not free, they are expensive, too expensive. Many families can’t pay and their kids stay home. But a child out of school loses his future. Please help them. A few months ago, in Zambia, we met two NGO working to educate the children (one youth development center and one orphanage). We are collecting money for them. If you just give us what you would have spend going to a coffee shop this week, you can change many lives !

the project :

  • buy an old second hand car for the students in automotive mechanics (so that they can learn how to fix it)
  • pay the school fees, but also all the living expenses (food, clothes…) for one orphan for a full year.

We don’t need much, only 1700 dollars for these 2 projects. We can do it, just help us !

After 5 years spent in Southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique), we’ve seen how key education is when it comes to personal growth and mutual understanding and tolerance. We’ve met special people on the field, who are dedicating part of their life to make a difference through structured and long lasting organisations.

It was too late this night to go any further. We entered a school yard and asked where we could pitch up the tent. The teacher showed us around and invited us to speak to the kids about our trip the next morning. And at the end of the day, it’s the kids who taught us a lesson !

Going on a journey through Africa is a complete change of lifestyle. You have to leave all comfort behind, and accept to take some risks. Some areas are more dangerous than others. The Lower Zambezi was one of them. And at the end of the day, when all is for the best, the sunset just seems even more colorful !

We just crossed the Zambian border. It’s time to discover the Victoria falls. 1,7 km wide, 108 m high, they fall in a narrow gorge. They are twice as high as the Niagara falls!
