Our compass is still pointing South. We’re now at the tip of Patagonia. A land that both Argentina and Chili were looking forward to. Follow your guides on both sides of the boundary… and watch out for the strong winds !
We carry on South. We arrive at Puerto Rio Tranquillo and its famous caves. Finally, we reach the ice field North : see how we set up our camp in that beautiful nature !
We just arrived in the driest desert of the world. In some places, it has never ever rained ! The perfect place to watch the stars !
We’re heading to South-Lipez, next to the border between Bolivia and Chili. We take on a difficult 4×4 track. We’re ready for the lagunas: beautiful lakes with amazing colors located more than 4 000 meters above sea level.
Second star to the right and straight on till morning… We followed the directions and took off ! You just have to reach the Salar of Uyuni in the middle of the raining season. It is flodded and turns into a giant mirror, giving access to the sky.
